Personal Profile

Xiangtao Zeng is dedicated to the development of high-performance Positron Emission Tomography (PET) detectors, including Depth of Interaction (DOI) and Time-of-Flight (TOF) technologies. This work facilitates the development of high-resolution and high-sensitivity PET systems. During his doctoral studies, he designed and investigated a monolithic crystal detector with dual-ended readout, achieving high detection efficiency and high 3D spatial resolution (including DOI resolution) (PMB 2024, DOI 10.1088/1361-6560/ad3417). He further developed reconstruction methods using continuous position to achieve high-resolution coincidence imaging. During his postdoctoral period, he focused on a multi-resolution TOF-DOI detector for human brain dedicated PET and designed high-performance brain PET systems.
